A perfect gift for the dancer, singer or 'life and soul of the party' in your life, this 'Home' pendant sums up the craic you would find in any Irish household at a gathering, be it a hundred years ago or today!

The story card accompanying this 'Home' pendant reads:

'This 'Home' adornment symbolises fibres of turf rising up to form a flame in a fire, shown here in the oxidised texture. In days gone by, it was common for people to gather around the fireplace in the old homesteads to share folklore, play traditional Irish music and dance in the céilí. The craic was always mighty and everyone was welcome!'

Materials: Sterling silver snake chain, sterling silver

Thinking and Process: The darkness of the turf fire is symbolised in the oxidisation of the fibres that form the flame. Years ago, in old Irish homes, families and friends gathered to connect with each other, have the craic, sing, dance and be merry! Both weddings and funerals were celebrated with music and dancing. Traditional instruments were used such as the bodhran, tin whistle, accordian and fiddle, to keep the beat and the feet stamping! Today, many traditional Irish pubs still hold ceilis, the traditional music can be heard over the dancing, laughter and singing.

Dimensions: 1.9mm snake chain, pendant 34mm x 25mm
